Let's play catch-ups. We took these photos way back in early July when we swapped houses with Ian's folks for a weekend. It was absolutely freezing cold in the mountains - butI think you can agree, the views were worth a few moments in the wind.

History Week

Each year the NSW History council organises a week celebrating all things historical. This year the theme is 'threads'. I can't wait to check out all the talks and exhibitions around town exploring ideas around historic dress!

One very exciting project undertaken this year is 'The Muses'.  Six historic muses were chosen and offered to Australian designers as inspiration for the design of an outfit. These were presented at the launch of history week and can be seen in this fashion film set in the State Library. I love seeing this space that I frequent for my research, turned into an atmospheric fashion film.

50's Fair - Part Three

As I wrote in my previous post, the thing that really makes the '50s fair every year is the people. The people who dress up, those who dance, and bring a little enthusiasm for mid-century style. So here they are: The people!

I tried to ask everyone for permission to publish their pictures here. If for any reason you don't want your photo here, please get in touch and I will happily take it down. Also if I have missed out any link love - let me know!
